One of our African leaders, Etienne Tturimumahoro, found a sustainable answer for hygiene and sanitation in this remote Nyabishongo village in Rwanda that has empowered its people to be part of change for better health care conditions and promotes their welfare. They located a clean water source from a nearby forest that reaches the local village school. The community helped dig a canal that will be able to connect the clean water to pipes, tanks and faucets that their district can then help provide. Clean water is an essential foundational step to help prevent Neglected Tropical Diseases from spreading throughout their area.
