Neglected Tropical Diseases

Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are parasitic and bacterial infections that affect over a billion of the world’s poorest people - that's one sixth of the world's population!

These diseases cause blindness, disabilities and disfigurements trapping infected people in a cycle of poverty and limiting their ability to work, attend school or even care for their families.

The presence of NTDs increases susceptibility to other diseases (HIV).

They are neglected diseases yet they are curable and preventable.
